Snow leopards live at altitudes where most large predators wouldn't survive, stalking prey across rocky mountain terrain at elevations above 10,000 feet across Central and South Asia. They are so elusive that local communities across their range have called them ghost cats for generations. Researchers have only been able to study them seriously in recent decades, and much of their behavior is still being documented for the first time.
Each Fahlo Ascent Plush includes a QR code. Scan it with the free Fahlo Animal Tracker app on any Android or Apple device and you'll be connected to a real snow leopard to follow through its mountain range. You'll see its name, location updates, and movement data as it navigates some of the world's most remote terrain. Snow leopards are tracked via GPS collar, and tracking data may be live, delayed, or historical based on safety protocols set by Fahlo's conservation partners.
The Ascent Plush is made in partnership with the Snow Leopard Conservancy, which focuses on building coexistence between snow leopards and the mountain communities who live alongside them. Their work includes developing livestock protection programs that reduce the economic pressure on herders to retaliate when a leopard takes an animal. Every purchase supports that community-based approach to conservation.
Snow leopards are listed as vulnerable, with an estimated 4,000 to 6,500 remaining in the wild. Their biggest threats are habitat loss, reduced prey, poaching for fur and bones, and conflict with herders. The Ascent Plush connects you to the real-time effort to change that.
